Have you ever wondered about starting a bounce house rental business? If so, it’s essential to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of this activity. In this article, I will cover the pros and cons of renting bounce houses based on my experience.
The Pros of Bounce House Rental Business
Fun and Exciting Activity. Bounce houses are a fun and exciting service that children love. You’ll mostly be providing this service to people who are full of positive energy. Your bounce houses will often be delivered to parties or other fun events where a good atmosphere is guaranteed.
Decent Income. Bounce house rentals can provide a tangible stream of income. Personally, with three small bounce houses rented out at 50 euros each, I was able to make 150 euros per day during the peak season. While the potential income may vary based on location and the size of the equipment, if you have multiple large bounce houses, you can definitely make a good living out of it.
Seasonal Job. Bounce house rental is often a seasonal business that is heavily influenced by weather conditions. While this may seem contradictory, I see it as an advantage since it allows me to generate a good income during the peak season and focus on other projects during the slower periods of the year.
The Cons of Bounce House Rental Business
Physical Work. Renting out large bounce houses requires the physical work of setting up and packing them away. This can be challenging and may require additional help.
Maintenance. Bounce houses quickly get dirty and can sustain damage during use. Maintaining and fixing them will require spending time and money.
Weather Dependency. The rental business depends heavily on the weather. It can be stressful when there’s rain or other unfavorable conditions that could ruin the rental experience.
Limited Free Time. Bounce house bookings mostly happen on weekends and holidays. You should be ready to have limited free time during those periods if you plan to work in this business.
Starting a bounce house rental business can be a fun and profitable activity. However, it’s important to consider the challenges involved. From weather dependency to physical work, there are several factors to take into account before diving into this industry.
